Laura’s Approach
Research indicates that counseling can be an effective method of treatment for individuals who suffer from emotional, mental, or just daily life challenges. Counseling is effective when it is tailored to each individual’s unique situation. Although one counseling method might be successful with a family or individual, it might not work with another even if their circumstances seem alike. For this reason, I make every effort to stay open to working with various counseling approaches. In addition, I continually educate myself on new and emerging counseling methods. Some of the counseling approaches I have found to be effective and often utilize are collaborative therapy, solution focused therapy, and narrative therapy.

My special interests include but are not limited to families, parenting issues, couples, young adults, adolescents, college & career issues, and trauma & anxiety issues. I also work with Spanish speaking individuals, couples, and families.
